FSXPilot on Windows Vista

Connect FSXPilot from a seperate computer ! This tutorial describes in detail how to set up a Simconnect client on a client computer (tutorial: for using SquawkBox) which interacts with FSX on your main system. Mario Mauro reports that he has sucessfully set up FSXPilot on a client using the tutorial above. Thanks Mario !

Video training now available ! Check out or new video training section for prerecorded flight simulator sessions that show you all aspects of FS(X)pilot use in fixed wing aircraft as well as in helicopters. This is ideal for first time users, but also great for tips and tricks. We will add new stuff to this secion regularily. Have fun !

FSXP on Vista ! FSXPilot has been tested on Windows Vista and we found no major problems apart from one: Saving situations in FSX with FSXP open is NOT recommended until the next FSXP update ! Please operate FSX in windowed mode. And please use FSXPilot with admin priviliges, otherwise the program initialisation will not work correctly. We recommend to choose 'always operate as admin' in the desktop link of FSXPilot.

Enhanced EFIS display as in FSXP version 1.22

New Update:
Today we've got something really special for you: Multiplayer and AI planes and helicopters on the FSXP EFIS !
With our latest free FSXP update you will be able to see up to 128 planes and 128 helicopters on the EFIS radar panel. All aircraft display their current heading, altitude and IAS. This is great for manual rendevouz approaches. You can even select the objects as moving NAV targets and follow an AI plane (or your friend as a multiplayer) automatically ! When close to the 'locked' target, FSXP will set speed, altitude and heading in order to create a side-by-side flight with the locked plane as long as possible.
Our new lesson shows in detail how to use this function.
FSXPilot users can download a FREE update for FSXP from our download area. This one also implements resizable EFIS and AP windows in FSXP (large scale moving map).

Happy formation and rendevouz flying !

New Update
In the finals of our successful FSP year, there is another FREE update for FSPilot (FS2004) which offers a resizable Autopilot- and EFIS Panel and individual definition of text- and symbol sizes. Now a large scale moving EFIS display can be easily created. PLUS: You can move the center of the EFIS (own aircraft) to 9 predefined positions. Save all settings via the 'options' dialog.
Go downloads to grab your update.

Happy new year to all of you and many interesting flights in 2007!

We have a small FSXP service update available with one correction and two more goodies: You can now receive the local weather information and METAR's from airports in range directly from FSPX menu. Please go downloads to grab the update, have fun ....

FSXPilot has been released !
We promised it, now it's real: FSXPilot has been submitted at AVSIM and is available for download from there shortly. In addition, we provide a download link from here.
FSXPilot is the FSX version of the universal autopilot and flightplanning software. It represents the first point and click navigation software available for FSX to date. All registered FSP users can use their license key (purchase one at www.simmarket.com) to activate this version of the software. Although FSXP is session limited, navigation, flightplan and most of the autopilot functions remain fully functional after 30 sessions. There will be no nasty splash screen after the evaluation sessions. Functions no longer usable then are: screenshot button, heli autoland button, mp3 play, google earth interface.

We have a quickstart lesson FSXPilot here. Please refer to our other lessons to see how to operate the program. Most of the functionality is identical between FSP and FSXP.

FSXP is a standalone FSX client program. It can be run before or during a FSX session, even from another computer connected via network. FSXP can be used for FSX (tested: windowed mode) and Windows XP only. All FSP functions including MP3 play, screenshot function and MS Access database interface have been realized. B747 autolanding is more precise, and we offer a much improved helicopter slow-fly performance - ideal for exploring the amazing new sights of Flight Simulator X !

New domain
We have our new domain ! You can now reach this website simply via http://www.fsxpilot.com or http://www.fsxpilot.de . All the best, the development team.

In the waiting line (Project AI traffic) for runway 26r at EDDM

FSPilot V 2.11 realeased
Have you ever been on an intercontinental flight, or waiting in line for take off for half an hour? If so you probably been wishing, you could sneak into the passenger cabin and take advantage of the in flight entertainment system. Now FSPilot makes that possible by a free service update that will allow you to play your MP3 files while flying. Entering 'play mp3 [substring in file name]' will do the job. Click here to find details and download the update (200k). V 2.11 now searches subdir's in your mp3 database directory and has an improved helicopter- and 'high time acc' flight model.

July 30th 2006: FSP database web interface released
The first version of the FSP database web interface is published. You can check out the online demo here or download the complete package (free).

FSP version 2.0 is released

Version 2.0 is a major enhancement including many new and unique functions, and has taken what has been called 'an amazing piece of software' to an even higher level. FSP implements an unique autopilot, EFIS, navigation and flight planning utility into every FS2004 plane and helicopter. It does not bypass commands to the aircraft's inbuild autopilot but rather implements its own autopilot engines run-time.

FIRST - FSP is the only module available to date that connects FS2004 to a Microsoft Access Database to keep track of all your flights and aircraft. If you have a copy of MS Access installed you can directly edit the database records and connect them to MS Word, MS Excel, ODBC, etc. For all others, a web interface for the FSP access database is available, allowing your editing of flight titles and comments, and making this a perfect flight logbook. Flights can be displayed on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. Compute aircraft hours and miles.

The new inflight status report includes, on one single page, real time, sim time, local time at current position, fuel at start, fuel capacity, current fuel, fuel use / min, fuel zero in xx h, IAS, MACH,TAS, GS in kts and km/h , time airborne, miles flown, outside temp, baro pressure, ambient and surface wind dir and speed. On the EFIS you find 'miles to destination', 'miles from departure', and approximate 'time to reach destination', taking into account any time acceleration.

A new landing evaluation includes, for each touch down, heading, V/S, IAS, passenger G force, gear and flap position, surface wind and speed. In addition, for helicopters the landing evaluation analyses forward/backward and lateral drift.

PLUS - FSP connects FS2004 and Google earth (GE), thus providing a way to display aircraft positions, 'real' flown flight tracks and airports in GE.

AND - FSP comes with it's own inbuilt screenshot camera - documenting any inflight picture (JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP or TIF format, definable size and quality) by only a mouseclick, or even by a flightplan command. Thumbnails of definable size and quality are generated. And - all screenshots, together with thumbnails and save date information are stored in the FSP database and FSP folders for further reference. Google earth KML files are created for each screenshot, showing the exact position where it was taken together with aircraft details. FSP is now capable of playing sound files (cabin crew announcements, pilot's voices) during flightplans and echo text input to the EFIS for user info.

Another first: FSP represents the first and only aerobatic autopilot and flightplan generator available for the FS2004 to date. In free flight, inverted flight can be accomplished by clicking a special key, and during inverted flight altitude-, heading- and nav controls are in operation. Within flightplans, loops, rolls, spins, even tailspins can be generated and smoke effects can be set on or off. External and internal views can be controlled by FSP flightplans.

The general aims in developing the autopilot were many and ambitious:

First and for beginners: to enable autolandings with all known planes of any size from Cessna to B747. In the current version, we have improved the autolanding capabilities. A special intelligent algorithm is capable of determining the best ILS runway to use on each airport depending on the runway length and wind direction. Approach entry and ILS entry coordinates will be automatically generated. FSP displays 'ILS-T's on the EFIS.

Second, this product is an advanced helicopter autopilot which not only stabilizes the aircraft but also enables autotakeoff, autoland, autohover on given position as well as low level profile flights. Heli autoland is very precise in the latest version.

Third, the product includes all AIRAC navaids and the EFIS is perfect for one-click-navigation even in the smallest plane. Fourth, fighter pilots will love the ability to auto-fly low ground profiles. And - FsPilot includes a flightplan language which not only supports basic waypoints, but also aircraft operations such as taxiing, operation of light, flaps, gear, pushback, brakes and reverse thrust, views and smoke effects. Maxbank and Mapitch can be set. FS2002/4 flights can be imported (PLN format). Flightplanners such as FSNavigator and FSBuild can be used, simply export the PLN format from these programs.

FsPilot runs in free floating FS2004 windows which are available not only in cockpit, but also in external views, enabling to watch takeoff, approach and landing from external views without nasty window switching. FSPilot can be entirely controlled by keyboard commands. And - FSPilot is time acc safe, much safer than any of the inbuilt autopilot engines. You can use FSPilot in time accelerations higher that 4 or 8 - we have tested values up to 128 (maximum time acc) here.

FSP does not require FSUIPC.
