Lesson: Fly inverted (on the back)

Inverted flight is an aerobatic maneuver.

Mistake us if we are wrong: Don't try this in a helicopter in FS2004. It simply does not work, because it is not supported.

Without FS(X)P

In a plane you start by executing a half loop (which should be finished when you are head down) or use half of a roll to get into inverted flight.
During inverted (by hand), the aircraft tends to loose altitude, which must unlogically be compensated by pushing the stick forward. If you overdo this, the climb must be counteracted by pulling the stick back. Finally, you might end in a sort of stable inverted flight procedure - but making turns or even basic navigating is a very difficult task.

With FS(X)P

That is why we invented the inverted flight button (symbol: -V- ) on the AP Panel.
Left-click this one (for safty reasions: you must press the CTRL key simultanously) to enter an immediate roll and go inverted. Stop inverted by pressing the button again. FSP altitude, heading, NAV functions will work (a bit slower) as you are used to. Of course this is primarily intended for well trimmed aerobatic planes like the Extra. Amazingly, it also workes with some heavy jets.

For a test, we flew a standard FS B747 inverted from EDDM to EGLL. Don't do this in real.
