Microsoft Access database connector

FSP and FSXP comes with it's revolutionary database connector. between FSP and FSXP V 1.0, the database structure has not been changed. Read all about this feature here.

Introduction

A database connector between Microsoft FS2004 or FSX and Microsoft Access database was implemented in FSP as well as FSXP. MS Access is a powerful personal database which is easy to operate and to connect to other applications of the MS Office family. The aims of this feature were:

- automatic storage descriptive data of every flightsimulator session for later reference
- automatic storage of screenshot parameters

Methods

FSP will automatically save certain data from a FS2004 or FSX flight session into the database, which are:

- details of the flight performed during this session
- aircraft model used
- details of landing performance
- duration of session (real)
- duration of flight (incl. timeacc)
- miles flown
- details of any screenshot taken during the flight

You cannot store FS2004 and FSX flights into the same database, because FSXP uses a new client concept and a different file structure. However, you shoould be able to merge two FSP databases.

The name of the database is fsp.mdb . WHERE is the database ?

FSP users: {FS2004 home dir}/fspilot/database
FSXP users: {FSXP home directory]/database

FSP web interface

MS Access can be operated directly, if you as a user have installed MS Access on your computer. For pilots who do not have MS Access available, we developed the FS(X)P web interface (free download) with the

- ability to add comments for flight after finishing the flightsim session
- ability to sort flight according to date saved, aircraft, miles, flight time
- ability to display flights of today, yesterday, last 1-4 weeks, last month, this year, last year
- implementation of deleting flights, aircrafts, screenshots from the database

Check out our online demo of the FSP webinterface here. After loggin in with admin rights (not permitted in the online demo) you will be able to delete and update certain records (flights, screenshots, aircraft).

The web interface is under permanent development and you will be able to download subsequent updates.
